Interstate 35 Northbound Lane Closures

These lanes will be restricted until approximately 10:00 a.m. to facilitate construction activities related to the $548 million corridor overhaul. Local drivers are advised to seek alternate routes or utilize the northbound frontage roads. Detours are currently in place at Exit 228 for those traveling toward the SH 71 and Ben White Boulevard intersection.

New Community Amenities at East Williamson Creek

City officials and the Austin Watershed Protection Department have officially announced the completion of the East Williamson Creek Greenbelt and drainage improvement project. As of this weekend, residents have full access to a newly completed network of trails and a nature play area for children. The project also included the installation of a new storm drain system designed to reduce flood risks for nearby homes by directing stormwater more efficiently into Williamson Creek. Future enhancements for the area, including murals and interpretive signage on the Creek Bend flood wall, are expected to begin later this year.
