Broadway in Austin sets 2026–27 lineup with 11 shows, seven premieres at Bass Concert Hall

A larger touring season is scheduled for Bass Concert Hall
Broadway in Austin has announced a 2026–27 season built around 11 touring productions at the University of Texas at Austin’s Bass Concert Hall, marking the largest Broadway in Austin slate to date. The season includes seven Austin premieres and four returning titles, with performances scheduled from September 2026 through June 2027.
The announcement positions Bass Concert Hall for a higher volume of weeklong engagements than in recent years, reflecting the continued expansion of touring Broadway routes and the competition among major U.S. markets for first-run national tours. The new schedule also indicates a mix of long-running commercial properties, music-driven titles, and large-format productions that typically require substantial staging and technical support.
Which productions are new to Austin, and which are returning
The season’s Austin premieres are: Mrs. Doubtfire (Sept. 22–27, 2026), A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical (Nov. 3–8, 2026), Buena Vista Social Club (Dec. 1–6, 2026), Hell’s Kitchen (Feb. 23–March 3, 2027), Water for Elephants (April 6–11, 2027), Death Becomes Her (April 27–May 2, 2027) and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (May 19–30, 2027).
Four productions are scheduled as returning engagements: Waitress (Oct. 21–23, 2026), The Phantom of the Opera (Jan. 20–31, 2027), Beetlejuice (March 19–21, 2027) and The Book of Mormon (June 8–13, 2027).
Season opens: Mrs. Doubtfire, Sept. 22–27, 2026
Largest-format titles on the calendar: The Phantom of the Opera and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
Season closes: The Book of Mormon, June 8–13, 2027
Ticketing structure and what it signals
The season is organized around 7-show and 8-show subscription packages, with several titles designated as add-on options rather than core package inclusions. That structure allows presenters to balance demand for high-capacity favorites with scheduling constraints and varying tour availability, while offering flexibility for subscribers who want a larger set of productions.
Some titles are included as core subscription shows, while others are offered as season options that can be added to a package.
Individual on-sale dates for single tickets have not been released alongside the lineup and are expected to be announced over time. As with touring seasons nationally, dates and programming remain subject to change due to tour routing and production logistics.
