Investigation focuses on incidents reported near 38th and 39th streets between January and April

Austin police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man suspected of being involved in multiple incidents described as indecent exposure and window peeping in Central Austin.

The investigation, handled by the Austin Police Department’s Sexual Crimes Unit, centers on reports from the 300 blocks of 38th Street and 39th Street. Police said the incidents occurred over several months, beginning in January 2025 and continuing through April 2025. A case number released by police is 25-5009490, and the department issued its public request for assistance on May 22, 2025.

What police say happened

Police said the suspect exposed himself to multiple victims during the series of incidents. The department has characterized the investigation as involving both indecent exposure and window peeping, indicating behavior that included victims being targeted at or near residential locations in the area.

Investigators released a photo and a descriptive profile of the suspect as part of the effort to identify him. Police did not release a name for the suspect and did not announce any arrest in connection with the reported incidents at the time of the public notice.

How to report information

Police urged anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information related to the incidents to contact the APD Sex Crimes Unit at 512-974-5230. Police also said anonymous tips can be submitted through Capital Area Crime Stoppers by phone at 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for information that leads to an arrest.

Police emphasized that identifying information from residents, neighbors, or anyone with relevant observations from the area during the January–April period could help advance the investigation.
